The founder of Jupiter claimed that Bull Checker is a fraudulent Google Chrome browser extension targeting Solana users. It was advertised on Reddit as a tool to view all owners of certain memecoins.
Experts recommend that users uninstall Bull Checker and other tools with broad permissions that cannot be trusted.
Once installed, Bull Checker waits for the user to interact with a standard DApp on the official domain and then modifies the transaction sent to the wallet for signing. In the simulation, the modified transaction looks quite normal, which hides its fraudulent nature.
Bull Checker requires users to accept permission to “read and write” data. However, legitimate wallet-checking applications should only ask for “read” permissions.
Several DeFi users reported that their crypto wallets were emptied after installing this extension.
This is a serious red flag for users, however, some traders continue to install and use the add-on.
One user who advertised the tool on Reddit claimed to have earned $3,000 last week, without providing any further information.
